You have a strong background of skilled tradesman experience, and have proven communication skills with supervisors, employees, and customers. You want to provide a professional and quality customer experience, are self-motivated, comfortable in fast-moving environments, and are able to manage time to effectively meet deadlines.

Daily Duties

The variety of tasks in this job is huge. Handymen are asked to handle tasks from carrying boxes into an attic to building a deck. For example, you may work 3 small jobs one day alone, be on a deck build for the next 3 days with a team, and 2 jobs the last day of the week with one with a helper and one alone.
You will complete small to medium repairs, light remodeling, home improvement, and specialty projects within times set by estimates and change orders
You will work alone on small jobs such as a drywall patch, an accent wall, and many other smaller jobs. You will work with a team on other tasks such as a window replacement, fence repairs, etc. and jobs taking longer than a day.
You will communicate with customers and owner about scope of work, any unforeseen developments found in the project, etc. Owner and you will work together to find the best solution for the customer.
Purchase materials for jobs using company credit cards and accounts.
You may be asked to perform estimate visits with the owner to provide your input and ideas for a solution.
You will ensure the efficient use of time and materials.
Safety is important to our customers and House Doctors. You will take safety precautions to safely perform jobs, and comply with OSHA safety regulations.

Qualifications and Characteristics

Skills in a variety of categories such as carpentry, drywall patching and textures, small paint and stain jobs (1-2 rooms, accent walls, doors, cabinets, etc), light plumbing and electrical, flooring, door installation, deck repairs, and others.
Minimum 3 years of verifiable work experience in carpentry, drywall patching, and painting.
Own and maintain a basic selection of tools necessary to perform the work.
Able to quickly assess and examine a problem situation to find an efficient resolution promptly and professionally while keeping the established timelines.
Able to communicate with customers and co-workers verbally and in writing, in English, in a courteous and professional manner.
Excellent customer service skills, an outgoing friendly personality, professional presentation, and appearance.
Goal-oriented self-starter and a team player who can expand the scope of work while generating additional customer referrals.
Able to work independently without supervision.

Compensation: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
